meaningful quote from have a little faith
but the joy u get from the same closeness - when u watch your children, when u wake up and smile at each other - that, as our tradition teaches us, is a blessing. people forget that.

' how Starbucks saved my life ' book review

the story is a about the author max who born with silver spoon, worked as the creative director of a big advertising firm and he suddenly being laid off in his 50s.
meanwhile, every bad came to him almost at the same time , divorce, sickness, financial problem etc all truly frustrated him
Finally he found back his lovable life when he joined starbucks, worked with different ( in the book, its says about black community) nationalities and knowing the importance of his life.
the story i can say its quite predictable but i do feel like the same when the author talked about how to give up your pride and starting from the beginning again.
definitely i got the same feeling when i firstly join as cabin crew.
' serve people , smile all day long, dress toilet.....' eh, i m really doubt whether i can accept this job nature.
but now, i just realize that everything got its meaning and its always good if you have a chance to try something new.
' every job got its own pride '
i like this word :)
uno, i really wanna meet the author up, as i read about his profile, he still work in Starbucks NYC ,coolllllll

The review - The Alchemist

i finish one book again, its very easy to get the meaning cuz its chinese version.
this story is talked about a boy quited his existing comfortable job and try to pursue his treasure in the Pyramid. He had faced loads of barrier and some temptation which blocked his way, but finally he made it.
this book reminds me about the little prince cuz its quite surreal, but i found it quite meaningful, which talks about life.
the most memoriable part is the boy ask for the fortune teller hows his future, the fortune teller said he cannot predict it but guess it. Future is belongs to god and he is the only one to reveal the future. People would afraid of the unpredictable future, but actually the secret of future is now, if you focus on present moment, you can improve the present status, and finally your future must be better.
So forget ur future and live it now.
i like this part :)

the book thief review

I had spend 2 months to it and i finally done today.
This book definitely not easy to read cuz the Author Markus uses so many wordings to describe , maybe the mood, the environment, its not easy to understand, but he also keen on describe people's character like Liesel, Rudy, Ilsa, Hans and Rosa.
its pity that it didn't too much about Nazi, but u will know part of it thru Liesel's daily life like her joinning of Hitler Youth, the Siren and her foster parent.
I like the monologue of Death. you can feel the sadness of those era.
its a nice book & a big challenge to me, s0 i do believe i can finish ALL english novel after this :)

men from mars, women from venus
這本書我在五六年前看過一遍
今天看了一點,發現當時仍未參透這書
the differences in the way they react under stress. He believes that many men withdraw until they find a solution to the problem. He refers to this as "retreating into their cave." In some cases they may literally retreat, for example, to the garage or spend time with friends. The point of retreating is to take time to determine a solution. What is known is that men in their caves are not necessarily focused on the problem at hand, many times this is a "time-out" of sorts to allow then to distance themselves from the problems so their brains can focus on something else. This allows them to revisit the problem later with a fresh perspective.
This has historically been hard for women to understand because when they are stressed their natural reaction is to talk about issues in order to find a solution. This leads to a natural dynamic of the man retreating as the woman tries to grow closer. This becomes a major source of conflict between any man and woman.
看著,有點成長
明白了我要怎樣做
我會重新看一遍

My sister's keeper

That is a very cool story which talked about Abnormal family. 13-years-old Anna was born becoz of saving her elder sister Kate's life.
Kate is the Leukumia patient, she start to live the hospital when she was little. She need , bone marrow, blood cell and finally , one kidney to sustain her life.. Their mom Sara had asked Anna to help.
Anna cant joinned her favourite Cricket trip becoz of her sister's sick. She cant asked her classmate to comeover to her place cuz it would disturb her sister. She cant have a very nice relationship with her classmate cuz she need to live in hospital periodically to draw her blood out to her sister.
she cant feel her love from her mom, only she can feel is her mom juz want her to give one of the kidney to her sister, she juz like being the tool.
The story is stunning when Anna start the lawsuit against their parent , cuz she don't want to do the surgery to give one of her kidney to her sister.....
But if you were the mom, what should you do ? should you juz waiting for ur daughter suffering by the sick ?
I feel touched when Sara explained in the court ...
" What if there s a fire in your house and then one of ur daughter was trapped. and only ur another daughter knew the way to rescue. will you asked this daughter to go inside ? yes, cuz only she can do that. But Is there any risk ? Will you feel bad when you asked her to go inside ? yes of cuz i do, cuz she is my daughter as well...
but it is the biggest chance to keep 2 daughters alive..that what i can do ..."
I feel like crying when i read this paragraph.....
thats so cool cuz there s a big twist in the later part....READ IT :D

da vinci code 達文西密碼

in fact, i m looking forward to this movie for 1 year ( as i remember, i finish the book last year). when i knew the main cast is my idols - tom hanks and audrey tautou, i m so exciting...
and as i remember, i have a trip to paris after i read the book, i just going to Musée du Louvre and see the mona lisa, the madonna on the rocks
umm...the movie is not bad indeed. but i think the book is better than that.
first of all , i think the book really emphasize on symbolism, some art history , critics of the painting..(you can get something after read )..but the movie....hmm, i just think it s just a like a story....
meanwhile, 2hrs30mins is not enough to interpret all the story. and the movie skipped some important part....
and you know what, i can't stop thinking when i watch the movie in that 2hrs and 30mins. my brain keep working, so after the movie, all of us are exhausting really.....
i m think robert langdon as i imagine when i read this book , he should be a a tall, thin and knowledgeable guy with glasses. but tom hanks....hmm....he seems old....
and when i read the book, i love the cast - silas. a miserable, faithful catholics. but the movie, i think it cant describe it deeply.....poor silas...
but the movie...make me wanna go paris again....le louvre..tour effiel, palace versailles...the mussel..onion soup...printemp the mall...oh...i miss it really
if you don't like the movie, just buy a book , u will love it more, i promise...
